We decided that since it was such a beautiful day that we would take a short trip. After church service we came home, changed our clothes, took the top off the jeep and away we went.
Our plans was to drive into the mountains and stop to Visit Grandfather Mountain. Little did we know that hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of other people had the same idea. Before we got anywhere close to the entrance we were stopped in traffic. Vehicles as far as we could see crawling their way toward Grandfather Mountain. Should we go on and wait our turn or just give up and come another day? We debated this question between us then hubby and I decided to hang tight. As we moved at a snail's pace up the mountain many of our traveling companions began to give up. Vehicles made u turns and headed back but we stayed. And we were so glad!
The mountain was crowded with others wanting to enjoy the beauty at Grandfather but we had a great time. We went to the swinging bridge, toured the museum and visited the animals.
We were tired but a good tired. The feeling you have when you have enjoyed a great day. :)

A New Year
Another new year is here and as always I am reviewing the last year and wondering where all the time went. I do this every year and think the same thought - "What did I accomplish in the last 365 days?". But I need to stop looking back and look forward to the wonderful opportunities that await in 2014. So.... 2014, here I come!
With all the Christmas knitting completed, I have begun to look through patterns and try to decide what I want to put on my needles next. Lately I have been drawn to scarves and cowls. I have some lovely wool in my stash that I bought from Miss Bab's. I love her yarn. http://www.missbabs.com/
So where would I go to search for patterns but to Ravelry - my favorite spot. These are some that I am thinking about.
This one is my favorite - I love this pattern. I have made several of these - The Infinitude Scarf.
If you have not tried this pattern, I highly recommend it.
I will try to get some photos of my completed projects posted soon.
Stay warm all and happy knitting.
